When visiting DC, there needs to be some sort of tourist etiquette. After all, you are a visitor and things I’m sure, are a bit different from where you are from.
1. When riding the metro, let people get OFF the train before you enter. Besides annoying, this is flat out rude.
2. When riding the escalators, stand on the RIGHT. People like to walk up the left.
3. Don’t stop in the middle. Whether that be the middle of the sidewalk, middle of the escalator, middle of WHATEVER. “Washingtonians” live a fast lifestyle. All you’re doing is getting in the way.
4. Don’t buy Obama crap from street vendors. These guys most likely AREN’T paying taxes so just go to the mall and support the economy by buying your glittered Obama beanie there.
5. Lastly, don’t be afraid to ask for help or directions. Besides our busy and fast lifestyle, we certainly don’t mind helping you out. Trust me, it makes it easier on us if you ask rather than just get in our way.
That’s my Friday rant people. Have a great weekend!
