Yesterday I received my acceptance letter to Johns Hopkins University. I’m pretty stoked to be accepted into their Masters of Govt program. After I take 5 classes, I’m eligible for the joint MA in Govt/MBA program. Because it’s a part time program, I’m able to keep a 40 hour a week job, which is a must because it’s $2500 a class and I would need 11 of them for the MA and 23 for the MBA!
So all in all, I’m pretty excited.
Last night, we have friends over to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. Of course, I was THAT person to ruin a great evening of fun with an injury. I hit my head on the corner of the door frame in my hall and end up in the ER. It wouldn’t stop bleeding so my friends were concerned. Luckily, I live 3 blocks away from George Washington University Hospital.
After 3 hours in the ER, I walk out with 6 blue stitches. I have to go back in 7 days to get them removed. The most painful part was the shot I had to get in my head to numb the wound so she could put stitches in!
All in all, I still consider it a pretty good day! I got some great news, had some fun last night with friends, and while there was a minor set back with the injury, it was late at night and everyone was ready to go home anyway. Right?!
Here are some photos of my injury.

Sounds like you had a blast. If your lucky it will leave a cool scar to make up and tell great, if terribly untrue, stories about.
I suggest that you make it even more fun, and save yourself a few bucks cash with which you could buy some more green beer and repeat the whole process, and remove the stiches yourself.
Its not hard, and it doesn’t even hurt(Occationaly one gets a little “stuck” but it will do that weather you remove it, or the Dr.(In fact as an excuse to use parenthesis inside parenthesis, I hazard to guess it will be a nurse who removes it cause its really so simple and way beneath the intellect and skill level of a real Dr.)removes it, and no he won’t use the “happy needle” to take them out.), just a little “tug”.
Simply get a good pair of Scissors, or a fingernail clipper(wash either first with Alcohal, Scotch is what I use, but finger nail polish remover does the trick too, you just shouldn’t drink it when you are done. The Scotch is drinkable, and better for the environment if you do so. Snip, or clip on one side of the knot, grab knot with fingernails and gently pull.
The only thing the Dr. will do, and will do so prior to that is make sure the wound is mostly healed.
Head wounds always bleed, and bleed like crazy, next time tell your friends to grab another drink, apply a towel with some pressure, if you still need both hands to hold the beer a headband, or big scrunchy, or bandana will hold the towel in place while you do the more important things.
