A free moment

Finally, a free moment to catch up on my blog.

Last week I went to California for 5 short days. I got to see my family, my friends, and my beach. The trip was too short but I am just swamped at work. In fact, I type this as I’m on my lunch.

I arrived in California Wednesday and instantly smiled when I walked outside to see Palm Trees. Thursday night I went to Pacific Beach with about 10 friends and had my favorite whole in the wall Mexican food after.

Yum

On Friday, I didn’t do much.

On Saturday, I went to the beach in the morning, which was AWESOME!

Beach

Saturday afternoon, I went to Ashley’s graduation at SDSU.

Saturday night, I went to my brother’s CD release party. The Bleeding Irish.

Sunday, I had a BBQ at my dads. We had tri-tip from Primo, which was AWESOME. Then my stepmom made me a GOP confetti cake, which was AWESOME. So Sunday in general was just AWESOME.

GOP cake!

Also, I should mention that Eddie asked Luis to be his best man. Here is a photo of the proposal.

Overall, it was a fun weekend and I can’t wait to be back in September for Eddie and Yvone’s wedding.

Next week is convention for work. Something I have been busting my ass on for over a year. John McCain, Aaron Schock, Michael Steele and others will be attending all because of my hard work. So props to me.

I also start school on Monday, DON DON DON! Next week will be interesting…stay tuned.

Forever

I haven’t updated in forever. I apologize. I’ve been super swamped at work. I’ll post a new blog soon with some pics from my trip home last weekend.

Fellowship update

I was accepted into the Capitol Hill fellowship program in Sacramento. Unfortunately, I will be declining the offer because the opportunities I have coming up in DC.

Thank you to everyone for the support! I will be announcing soon the changes happening in DC in June.

Today

Today is my mom’s birthday. She turns (insert appropriate age and then subtract 10.) I got her a new phone- a pink blackberry curve. This will either be a blessing or a curse.

Update to follow.

4th Place

The Motorcade is now in 4th place. We are 1-2-2, lol. This week we play at 8:30 am at Trinity College against Blue Steel. We tied them 2-2 a few weeks ago and I am confident that we’ll be able to take home a W on Saturday.

Tonight is soccer practice. Tomorrow is LOST. Thursday is The Office. I’m excited.

Disappointment.

I’m not one of those emo kids who talks about their emotions on their blogs or tweets about them on their twitter or even updates their status about it on Facebook. But today was a disappointing day. Definitely not the typical Monday I was expecting but no point dwelling on it. I am looking forward to the rest of the week. And the week after that. And the week after that.

I start school in 3 weeks. Yaaaaay.

Airline etiquettecy

I feel like their needs to be an official guide for how not to be a douchebag on an airplane. I took a very short trip out West this week and became peeved at some people’s lack of airline etiquettecy. For example:

1. A mother not changing her kids diaper. I mean really?! If I can smell it two rows back, get your lazy self up and change your child!

2. Traveling with children under 2 means you don’t have to buy them a ticket. That does not mean that should be roaming the cabin freely! Sit them down, on your lap, and make them fall asleep! I don’t want to hear them screaming because they’re bored with the position they have to sit in.

3. Hogging armrests. This is a tricky one—I had to sit in the middle seat on one of the legs. It was in the emergency exit row so I had plenty of leg room but NO arm room. The two guys to the left and right of me wouldn’t give me an arm rest so my shoulders were hunched the entire 6 hour flight! The way I see it is this…everyone gets the one to the left of them and the guy on the aisle lucks out with two. My reasoning for this is because that person on the aisle is most likely to get hit by people walking up and down the aisle so why not just give him the extra.

So there’s my guide. Someone should consider making a book and people should consider reading it.

I can’t wait to be rich one day and only fly first class so I can avoid all the little things that urk me in coach. I don’t mean that in a snobby way but sometimes, I would rather pay to not be annoyed.

Oh Russell Crowe

I saw “State of Play” this weekend. Excellent movie. What saddens me is that it was probably filmed early last year in DC. This means that Russell Crowe and I were in the same city at the same time. :heart broken: Overall though, I recommend it if you haven’t seen it.

I also saw “The Reader” on blu ray. Another EXCELLENT movie. What’s her face from Titanic showed a little too much boob but overall, the story line was amazing.

Go see them folks!

Current playlist

Thought I’d update everyone about what is going on in my iPhone. Here is my top 34 at the moment. Not going to lie…the new music scene kinda sucks lately.

California’s Special Election

A guide for voting on May 19th…

NO on 1A

NO on 1B

NO on 1C

NO on 1D

NO on 1E

NO on 1F

It’s simple folks. Raising taxes in a state that already has the highest taxes across the country is NOT the way to dig yourself out of a deficit. I mailed my absentee ballot last week and await the response from California tax payers.
