Moving hell

On Monday, I relocated across town to The V at City Vista. It’s a new “luxury” apartment building right in between Chinatown and Mt. Vernon Square. I love the new place but getting there was a bit of a struggle.

Problem 1:
There was a lot more stuff to move than anticipated. It took Luis and I 3 hours and some change to load the Uhaul.

Problem 2:
Luis locked the keys inside the uhaul. We had to ask the building guy for some bolt cutters because Luis padlocked the back when he closed it.

Problem 3:
Our move in slot was from 8 am to 2 pm. We arrived at our moving place at 1:50pm. Someone else had the freight elevator reserved after us too. LUCKILY, they didn’t show up on time and Luis and I had the uhaul unpacked in less than an hour.

Problem 4:
Comcast. I don’t even want to elaborate on how shitty their service is but it’s now Day 3 of living in our apartment and we still don’t have a working cable box after spending close to 5 hours on the phone with them.

Problem 5:
We got to do laundry last night. 20 mins pass by and Luis walks into the bathroom. It’s flooded. Along with half the kitchen. One of the water pipes is broken so any water that goes in, goes out. On to the floor. They won’t be there to fix it until Friday morning.

So besides those problems, we are completely unpacked and settled into the new place. Loving the location, the building, and the full size safeway directly below us.

That is all.
