Back to the daily grind. I left sunny southern California for a very cold DC. I went from 65 degree weather to 8 degree weather.
Why do people live where it’s cold? I mean, seriously? How do you cope with seasons? This would be a good thesis topic for psych grad students. Money aside, why do people live where it is MISERABLE 4-6 months out of the year? Clearly there are warmer parts of the country with similar economic demographics so what drives them to tolerating cold weather? Comments are welcomed.

most of the time, it’s because that’s where they’re born and what they’re used to. it’s where their family is and they want to stay close or it’s all they’ve ever known. also, you’re living in DC so you know at least one reason you live there. if you live in one place your entire life, you get used to the weather. i wonder why people live in phoenix, too… it’s disgustingly hot for a good chunk of the year. or florida for that matter. i couldn’t handle the humidity. but people stay because every place has some sort of appeal.
